Can You Take A Sick Day On Medium?

I realized again yesterday how high of expectations I have in myself.

This past week, I have been much sicker than I have been in years.

It started Sunday night when I felt a tickle in my throat.

That tickle kept getting worse and worse.

On Monday, I told my husband I felt like I was getting sick. I started rubbing Nature’s Shield (an essential oil) all over me. It has prevented many sicknesses, and I thought this would pass too.

On Tuesday, I grew super hoarse.

I texted a friend that I was supposed to see on Wednesday and told her I was a little sick. I still didn’t feel too terrible, but I definitely sounded rough. She was sick too, and we carried on with our plans the next day.

I thought I was getting better, but I woke up throughout Wednesday night with what felt like fire in my throat. When I got up the next morning, I didn’t even want to talk.

I went to the doctors, and I took the dreaded strep test. It was negative. My doctor said it was most likely an upper respiratory infection. I was given an…
