Friendships Need Boundaries Too.
Don’t Settle for Lousy Friends
By Grace K. Bianco
“Who you are friends with, says a lot about you.”
We have all heard that quote in some way at least once. I have shared my advice dating, and shared what I know about marriage as a newly wed. I believe it is time to share what I know about friendships.
It’s important to have friends. It’s important to have friends who don’t think exactly like you. It’s just about finding the healthy boundaries to go about it.
Many Friends to Only a Handful
Back when I was in high school, I would have considered myself popular. I had two / three different friend groups, but there weren’t many people I didn’t get along with. I always had someone to talk to. There was always someone to hang out with. To prove my popularity to you all, I won prom queen. (;
My junior year I began to feel depressed. I started writing in my journal. A couple months ago, I read through it again. One of my entries said something like, “I have so many friends, but I have never felt more alone.”
