I Don’t Have To Explain Myself

I talk a lot. It’s one of the many reasons why I became a writer. I always have plenty to say… So, why not write it all down?

Now, that my writing audience has grown, and my Twitter page is growing too. I am constantly talking to someone online.

Now, that I am more settled and have made more friends in TN, there is almost always someone to talk to.

On top of that, I am married. Our job as husband and wife is to talk and listen to each other all of the time.

With all the talking that I do, I have become more and more selective on what I use my voice for.

I have always been pretty defensive and an over explainer, but I am slowly learning how unnecessary that usually is.

I can just say no.

Whenever I didn’t want to do something, I thought that I needed the perfect excuse and perfect wording to say no.

Even up until just a few months ago, I would call my parents and ask them what I should say to get out of certain situations. Both of my parents would be on speaker…
