I Love It Now, But I Used To HATE It

VBS used to be my worst nightmare. Now, I look forward to it.

One day left for my second year as an assistant VBS teacher.

If you don’t know what VBS is, it stands for Vacation Bible School. It’s a week of fun and learning about Jesus for children at church and in the community.

The children memorize verses, do crafts, play games, sing/dance to worship music, and listen to Bible stories.

It is such a fun time, but by the end of this jam-packed week, EVERYONE is exhausted.

As a kid, there was nothing I hated more than VBS week. Now, as an adult, I look forward to it and always enjoy it.

Shyness was never my problem.

I have always been talkative, and I have never had a hard time making friends.

It confuses people when I tell them that I hated VBS even as a social butterfly. I did hate the huge mass of kids, but it was actually because of my fear of vomit, emetophobia, not socializing.
