I personally would never change my religion. I dated an atheist for four years, and it just didn't work for me in the end. I made sure to find a Christian after that.

As far as this situation goes, it is really sad. No one should feel forced or pressured to convert to any religion. True followers come from personal choice, not the law. /: I really hope they are able to figure something out that works for the both of them.
