I Want To Pray For You

What’s on Your Heart Today?

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” — Ephesians 6:18

As many of you know, I am on a journey of being intentional and productive. (Read other articles about my goals here and here.)

One of the ways I am doing that is by joining two different Bible studies in the area. One is a women’s Bible study that is very hands on with more expectations than the average Bible study. The other Bible study is a couple’s study.

In the couple’s study, we are supposed to share our goals as Christians. My goals are to continue reading the Bible all the way through and to have intentional prayer time.

In the women’s study, we were all assigned a prayer partner. Our partner is who we share our sins, praises, and requests with each week. Then, we pray over each other out loud.

The only thing is… Prayer is one of my weaker spots.

I pray throughout the day, but they are very sporadic and all over the place.

I am very easily distracted. So, sitting down to really pray each day has been quite the task.

I need that time though, and I believe God deserves that time.

Praying alone isn’t my only struggle. I am also terrible about praying out loud.

Prayer isn’t about fancy words or saying all the right things. It’s about lifting yourself and others up to God.

I still get super nervous. I find it super uncomfortable, and I am intimidated by other people who are “good” at praying out loud.

But I want to be able to do it. If someone needs to be prayed over, I want to feel confident enough to be that person to do so for them.

Here’s where you all come in.

As I work towards growing in my prayer life, I want to have others I can pray for.

When I was younger, my mom always taught me the importance of praying for people that you said you’d pray for. To this day, I am still trying to apply that wisdom to my life.

I am always commenting, “I’ll pray for you,” on various writers’ post. A lot of the time, I actually do, and other times, I forget.

Well, I won’t be forgetting anymore!

In my notes app, I have a note titled, “Prayer Requests.” I also plan to use a tiny journal, and I will write down whatever it is you need to be prayed for.

Whether you are a Christian or not, if something is on your heart, I want to pray for you.

I realize I have many nonbelievers that read my writing. If this isn’t for you, no worries! You don’t have to say anything. I just want you to know that I am here if you need anything.

Lu Skerdoo was also a part of my inspiration for this post. I commented about anxiety on one of her posts, and she added my comment to one of her reading lists titled, “Prayer Requests.” I want to be intentional like her. ❤
