I was very fortunate to have a mom and older sister that were open with me. I did choose the abstinence route, but it wasn't because of sex being taboo. My husband didn't have that kind of guidance, and it did effect things in his life. We have had so many talks about this already, because we don't want our children to feel uneducated or unable to speak on such an important topic.
