I wasn't too concerned at first, but when you said that he wanted her to quit her job right away, sirens started going off. That is something to be very concerned about. Also, trying to get her to not go to church shows a lack of respect for her beliefs.

My boyfriend in high school had well off parents. They would let him buy me all kinds of things, and we never were given a budget for going out on dates. I am not one to ask for things. So, I always felt bad with how much they did for me. I appreciated it, but it was his parents' money anyway. After I broke it off with him years later, I knew that being spoiled wasn't at the top of my list. I wanted a man that could provide, but I preferred someone more frugal and smarter with their money. Money really isn't everything.
