I’m way to open about my life.

Not very good at keeping my own secrets

By Grace K. Bianco

“If your life is your ‘brand’, you need to post as much of your life as possible.”

I was given that tip by the mom of the kids I nannied for. They owned businesses, and whenever they would give me tidbits of wisdom, I would soak them in.

I will never forget that quote. I have always been an open person, but it was that quote that taught me that openness is the only way I will ever be able to achieve any of this.

My Memoir

There’s not much I haven’t talked about when it comes to my blogs and social media platforms. I think the best illustration of just how open I am is my book though.

My book, “Party Pooper: Growing up with Anxiety”, is my entire life summarized. I talk about the good, the bad, and the ugly. Some of the topics I wrote about are : my anxiety, my faith, different kinds of schooling I did throughout my life, the adoptions of four of my siblings, relationships/breakups, and friendships.

Each chapter is either one or two years of my life. I loved writing it so much, but I can’t lie and say that some parts I didn’t cringe over. It wasn’t always easy navigating through parts that talked about other people I am no longer friends with. So many people that I don’t talk to anymore shaped so much of my life. I changed many names, and left out as many details about them as I could. Although, I am open about my own life, I understand that not everyone has that same desire.

What I post on Social Media

I have to admit before I dive into this section… I don’t really like social media. Did I not just say, “There’s not much I haven’t talked about when it comes to my blogs and social media platforms.”? Yes, I did, and I will say it again.

I see social media as a tool. It is where I do all of my marketing for my writing. It is how I am able to talk with people who are dealing with problems and need advice. I love social media, because it has helped me follow my passion.

As a lifestyle blogger, I have to post my life. I would rather sit behind my computer and type my entire life story than post a corny picture of myself with a tiny caption. However, in this day and age, I don’t have much of a choice.

How can I type my stories and not put a face with it? How will people trust me enough to come and talk to me… if they can’t see who they are talking?

My instagram stories are where to find me (@ gracekbianco). I love posting funny stories about my husband and I, pictures of my coffee, quick life updates, views from all the traveling we do, and anything else I can think of.

Social media is where all of my tidbits are. My blogs are full of my detailed stories.

My Blogs

I have said it many times before, but I have two blogs (this one and newkindofliving.com). Everyone seems to like my New Kind of Living blog more, but I like my Medium blog more. I feel much more open on here.

New Kind of Living is what I call my personal blog. I designed the website on wix.com, and I matched it to my personality/writing to the best of my abilities. You will find more update type posts on there. I feel like I speak more generally on Medium. Some blog titles from New Kind of Living are: “time for a baby?”, “home sweet home?”, “how i have been doing (mentally)”, etc.

I love blogging, and I always pray that I will get somewhere with it. I love that I can just get on my laptop and type whatever thoughts I want to.

As someone who has always been open, becoming a blogger just made sense. If I am going to constantly talk to everyone around me about every little thing, why not just tell the whole world?

The End of the Rambling

I have heard a few comments about some of my posts. I have been told what I should post and what I shouldn’t.

I will talk about my faith until my face turns blue, but I will do it in the most gentle way I can. I am not online to argue. I will say I am conservative, but I will leave it at that. I am not online to debate politics.

I am online to tell my story, and to help others in any way I can. I am online to share my life. To me, sharing my life means posting every little thing.
