Tales of a New Marriage
January 23, 2021
Grace Bianco here. I have been married for fifteen days.
We started the morning with planning exactly when we would leave to go shopping at Target to make it in time to my husband’s sister’s house. We decided that if we left no later than 3:15 that would give us a little over an hour to shop, and make it to his sisters by five o’clock.
There wasn’t much to do around the house. So, I just washed our sheets, and dried them over and over. Drying sheets / blankets takes FOREVER.
I wrote more thank you cards. Hopefully, I will finish them all tomorrow.
I put on makeup and straightened my hair to look more humanlike to go out. Apparently now that I am married, I don’t care what I look like when I am just at the house.
We had so many target gift cards to spend. We got a new comforter, a throw pillow, a curtain / curtain rod for our sliding back door, a curtain rod for our guest bathroom shower, metal straws, and probably more things that I am just forgetting. I also ordered a little table for our front entrance hallway from Target.
I am determined to have our house put together before we leave for my husband’s work towards the end of February. We will be gone for at least a couple of months. I want to be able to come home to a nice and furnished home instead of multiple projects to get done.
We got to my husband’s sister’s slightly early. We played outside with our niece and nephews while hot dogs and hamburgers finished up on the grill.
It was our first time over there since we got married. I am officially an aunt now. I will happily be just an aunt for awhile. We don’t want kids of our own for a few years.
We ended up playing a game called “Unstable Unicorns” and “Up the River” with his sister and brother-in-law. We stayed until around eleven o’clock.
My husband wasn’t feeling well when we left. He had mentioned in the morning he thought he might be getting sick, but since we stayed out so late, I think being so tired made it worse.
We ended the night with me moisturizing like crazy, because my skin has been peeling since getting back from our honeymoon in Cancun about a week ago. My husband knocked out as soon as he got in bed. It was my turn to rub his back, and be there for him while he fell asleep.
Teamwork is the dreamwork.
That was my day… How was yours??
