We are all human with lots of emotions. We all need something to believe in. We need a peace and comfort that goes beyond a friend’s or family member’s simple pat on the back. We need something to pray to or something to believe in.
A movement known as New Age (Word of Faith in Christianity) is gaining popularity. Those that don’t believe in God are beginning to believe in other things. Crystals bring healing and love. Meditation brings clarity and peace of mind. The universe aligns to deliver each of us our individual and divine plan.
New Age is subtle. Many people who share its beliefs don’t even seem to put themselves in this category. Rarely (if ever), do you hear someone say they are New Age. New Age practices are becoming more and more mainstream, even showing up in workplaces with the endorsement of employers.
I began pondering New Age (specifically manifestation) when I was watching TikTok one day. A girl was “putting out into the universe” that she “manifests 1 million followers in the next three days”.
In the moment, I just scrolled to the next post. It was in the following weeks that I began to see more and more of this. People were manifesting good grades and relationships. People were flooding the comments…
