My Christian Blogs Do The Best, & I Earn Nothing From Them

My Christian posts are free for all.

They could go completely viral, and I will keep that star off of my post.

I call myself a lifestyle blogger, but I also fit in with the Christian bloggers. As much as I have to tell about my life, I still have much to say about the One who guides it.

There were times I felt like I was really forcing Christian based blogs. I felt boxed in and burnt out. When I started pushing myself to write more, God started coming out more and more. I always prayed that I could talk about God fluently. I prayed my words about Him would come across genuine and true.

Writing about God has become just as easy as writing about my favorite cup of coffee. He is in my entire life, and so whether my blog theme is marriage or a bunch of Bible verses, you will find God sprinkled throughout them.

My Mission with Writing

When I started writing, I saw it as an opportunity to reach more people. I wanted to be able to talk about my life and how much God is a part of it. I didn’t realize I had a passion for writing until quite a few months after. I started with the soul purpose of just wanting to encourage people.

Now, I long for my writing to become more of a career, but I will never forget the reason I started. As much as I try to tell people how great Medium’s membership is, there are people who will never get it. I want them to have just as much access to my Christian blogs as everyone else.

It doesn’t feel right to make money on blogs about God. To me, it defeats my purpose of writing to as many people as possible.

I used to only meter one blog out of my three a week. Then, I couldn’t ever decide which blogs to meter and not meter. If it was 100% Christian based, I knew to keep that one unmetered, but other more life based ones were becoming harder and harder to choose from.

Now that my following has grown, I meter every blog besides the Christian ones. I plan on keeping it this way. So, if you can’t afford the membership, you will still have available writings of mine. I don’t plan on ever changing that.

Final Thoughts

For those that don’t want to post free writing, that is YOUR choice. Writing is a lot of work, and I am not here to make anyone feel bad about making money. I just wanted to talk about this, because I just wanted to update you all on my metering status from here on out (+hold myself accountable).

If you are a Christian and blogger on here, I encourage you to write about God whenever you can (metered or not). From my experience, people are very receiving of Christian posts. Even people who have completely different views have responded kindly. You never know who needs to read it!

My Christian blogs get a fair amount of attention these days, but I will not be tempted. They could go completely viral, and I will keep that star off of my post. (I am saying a lot of this to hold myself even more accountable.)
