My Husband Is Working Crazy Hours, But We Are Still Managing To Thrive
The Smallest Acts Speak the Loudest
By Grace K. Bianco
It doesn’t take much to keep us happy.
It’s no secret that most marriages go through some really hard times, but most marriages also go through sweet and (close to) perfect times.
My husband and I have been married for two years and three months. We have had some rough times together, but these days, the hard times seem to grow further and fewer a part. I genuinely cannot tell you the last time my husband and I even had the slightest disagreement.
Most of our worst times had something to do with his job. There were times he was on night shift, and we were hardly able to spend time together. Other times, he had to travel, and landlords wouldn’t allow us to live together. Sometimes, my husband was just stressed, or I was over being paranoid having to be alone at night. The list goes on.
My husband is a Radiation Protection Technician. Twice a year (during the fall and spring), he has to work longer hours with less days off. Right now, he is working twelve hour shifts. He works for four days, and then, he gets one off.
It’s a lot, and he gets really tired. So, he goes to bed much earlier than I do…
