New Kind of Living
the BEST kind of life there is

My main blog is newkindofliving.com. It started out as a blogspot blog back in 2018 until I made my own website. It’s growth has been small, but the blessings have been rich.
I have heard many people tell me their own stories after reading many of mine. I am a very open writer. I talk about the good, the bad, and the ugly. I keep it as real as possible, while also still sharing the amazing things that God has blessed me with.
I had just turned eighteen when I started blogging. I remember being at my ex boyfriend’s house and just suddenly creating and writing a blog. I can’t put a finger on why I decided to start writing. I can’t even tell you why I decided on the name New Kind of Living.
Honestly, prior to writing that blog, my passion for writing wasn’t all the way there. I had written some in my free time, and I liked journaling. I never minded school or writing papers. Yet, the thought of becoming a writer had never even crossed my mind.
I had just graduated from high school and had dropped out of college. College just didn’t feel right like I once thought it did. I craved purpose as I struggled to find a job. Maybe, that was why I decided to give writing a shot.
I also figured I could bring people in by announcing that I had dropped out of college.
Yet, those are just my theories as to why I started. Sure, I believe that those theories did play a part, but that exact time in my life is a blur.
Why?
I believe that God was in complete control. He put that random thought in my mind to just start a blog. He named the blog, because when I first chose it, I couldn’t have even told you what it meant.
I am pretty sure it took me a whole year before I realized the reasoning behind the name…
My life has been one constant season of changing since I started blogging. I used to be scared of change. I liked routine and constant consistency. Blogging was what kept me grounded. I could look forward to each change, because it would give me a new story to tell.
As my life continued to change, my relationship with God only seemed to get closer and closer. I relied on Him to be my never changing and always loving God.
When I started blogging, I had no idea what I was doing. I have always been a Christian, but I had become a doubtful and angry one. When I started writing to encourage others, I began to encourage myself with my own words.
With each change, I clung to God more.
New Kind of Living isn’t the newest YOLO, but about showing that the best kind of life is the one where you live closest to God.
Everything is so temporary. Everything is constantly changing. Yet, God is eternal and constant.
When we leave our lives behind to follow Him, we become a NEW creation. We begin to live a NEW life.
Today is our day to start living in a new kind of way.
