News Flash: Sex Makes Babies

Trying to conceive doesn’t have to be an awkward topic anymore.

October is infertility/pregnancy loss awareness month. During this month, I feel so seen. Last October was right after my first miscarriage, and I felt so comforted by all the posts and awareness surrounding this specific kind of pain.

I have been in the infertility/miscarriage community for over a year now, and I see a lot of misinformation and shame that circulates around this topic.

So, in honor of this month, I want to discuss another major topic that is often seen as too awkward.

We are all adults here. If you aren’t, don’t read this. (; So, it’s okay for us to discuss the s-word.

In today’s world, sex is becoming less and less a hush hush topic. Many can talk/listen to a one-night stand story. It can be as easy as discussing the dinner they had the night before. My husband has a blue collared job, and you should just hear the kinds of things he tells me. Ladies aren’t always so innocent either lol.

The point being: Sex is no longer some secretive/shameful topic.

However, in some cases, it still is.
