All four of my siblings’ adoptions are discussed in my book, “Party Pooper: Growing up With Anxiety.” I included all the good, the bad, and the ugly. I will also have other articles I have written about adoption down below!

I was eight years old when my parents announced to me and my older brother and sister their desire to adopt.

I remember jumping into my mom’s lap barely able to get the words out, “A baby??” My parents made no promises, but my eight year old self held onto hope.

I had spent my entire eight years of life begging for a little sister, and now, that dream was within reach.

I volunteered my room up immediately.

When my parents eventually decided that we would adopt a baby girl from Ethiopia, I begged for her to be put in my room.

This would be the start of the many sacrifices I would make for the multiple adoptions my family finalized.
