For two years as a writer, I wasn’t making a single penny from blogging.

There are so many articles on Medium that are focused around money. From people earning their first penny to others making hundreds a month, there is always an article to read. I read all of the realistic ones (mostly just Jan Sebastian’s and Paul Walker’s).

I didn’t start writing to make money, but the more I write the more I want it to be something. I am working on being thankful for whatever I get. These days, my earnings are at a standstill, and I am making less than I did when I wrote and read less. It can be frustrating, but I am beyond blessed to make anything at all.

Nevertheless, I love writing AND Medium. My earnings won’t make me quit writing OR Medium. I truly love it here.

With the holidays coming up and all the talk of Medium’s pay, I have started asking myself a couple of questions… “What is my goal pay?” & “What would/do I use my money for?”
