There’s inspiration in just about everything.

Figuring out what to write takes me longer than actually writing. I think and think until I can’t think any more. The more I write the less topics that are left, but the more I read the more that flow. (I will dive more into that at the end, but I will give a quick example now. Deb Palmer’s article, “Are You Listening When Taps You on the Shoulder?”, actually gave me the idea for this article.)

Writing for Medium is about consistency. Whether you write once a week or daily, you most likely have some kind of writing goal to hit each week to really make it on here. For me, I really do all that I can to post three times a week.

As a lifestyle blogger, there is only so much to say, right? Wrong! 179 blogs later, there is always something to say. So, what are my secrets? How do I always find inspiration each week?

1. Easy To Get To Notes

This is a MUST for all writers, and I can’t be convinced otherwise.

Whether you are a lifestyle blogger like me or a history writer, you need a notebook of some sort with you at all times. (I use my phone notes.)

If an idea pops into your head, it needs to be written down ASAP. You may have a better memory than me, but do you want to risk losing your fantastic topic? It can also be used later on if you aren’t up for writing it any time in the near future.

Brainstorming is hard enough. Don’t let a great idea slip your mind!

2. Reflection

This is a huge one for me.

Look at your life (or specific niche) and ask yourself a series of questions.
