Since I believe in the Bible, I definitely believe in a lot of prophecies. However, it is important to be vigilant, because a lot of people make claims of a prophecy without it coming from God.

Also, I don't know if this comforts you at all. But a lot of Christians (including me) believe that true believers of Christ will not experience the darkness and war that's prophesied. We believe that happens with people who chose not to believe, and these people have one more shot at turning their lives around. However, it will be a lot more difficult to be a believer then than it is now.
