Swallowing My Fear & Pride To Branch Out To Other Platforms
Sometimes, you have to market yourself outside of your comfort zone.

Wherever that confident in front of the camera girl is… I need to find her again.
I am a writer not a social media influencer. Unfortunately, in this day and age, I feel like I must be both.
You don’t have to be an influencer to be a writer, but if you want to grow your audience in bigger and different ways, social media is where to do it.
Back in April 2020, I had to raise $4,000 to publish my book. How did I do it? I was a Christian TikToker.
Every single day for months leading up to this campaign, I posted daily. I’d find a verse, quote, or share my own thoughts on God. I encouraged as many as I could. My audience kept steadily growing.
Then, I met my husband. I became mortified at the thought of him watching me. I was also burning out quickly over the repetitiveness of my content.
I hit my goal of $4,000, but I couldn’t keep doing TikTok. Eventually, I deleted all of my videos.
A few months later, I tried for a couple of weeks, and I still couldn’t get into it.
