Tales of a New Marriage

Grace Bianco here. I have been married for forty-seven days.

The morning started off with my husband and I packing up and leaving the hotel.

We didn’t have a solid place to stay when we left the hotel. So, we went to the nuclear plant to get my husband’s badge, and to try to find a place to stay on their bulletin.

As I waited in my car, fear started to weigh heavy on me. It would be my first night since marriage that I would sleep alone. Not only would I just be sleeping alone. I would be in someone else’s house in an unfamiliar area.

Once my husband finished up, he told me that he found a place for us to temporarily stay. There would be no wifi or tv.

I followed my husband in my car to the house. I looked at myself in the rearview mirror. Tears were forming in my eyes. My stomach was getting more nauseated by the second.

I turned on music to tune out my thoughts.

It was only a twenty-five minute drive, but my eyes were dry by the time I got out of my car.

We unpacked our bags and did what we could to get settled into our room.

We decided to go get McDonald’s. I can’t even express how badly we have been eating. Once we get settled, I will begin meal prep, and eat salads again. We can enjoy the junk food while it lasts though haha.

My husband and I took a nap together until it was time for him to get ready to go.

We hugged and kissed goodbye. As soon as he shut the door, I began planning my night. I plan on gradually staying up later and later. That way I can at least sleep in with my husband in the morning.

I spent the night removing royal blue nail polish off of my fingernails. I cut them and filed them. I read from the Bible and read the rest of the book I have been reading called “Renovation : No one is beyond repair” by Renovation Church in Simpsonville, SC. I wrote a weekly blog called, “i prayed this wouldn’t happen”, for newkindofliving.com. I took a long shower. I did whatever I could to pass the time.

I ended the night by watching “Ralph breaks the Internet”. For some reason, the later it got… The better my reception got. Not having wifi is a pain when the reception is not good, and I can’t post my blogs from my laptop. I was able to watch the whole movie though. I fell asleep a little after midnight.

That was my day… How was yours??

See you tomorrow!! Until then, follow me on Instagram @ gracekbianco for more!!
