Tales of a New Marriage

Grace Bianco here. I have been married for twenty-six days.

The morning started off with me waking up at 6:30am. Although, I did not want to leave the warm bed with my sleeping husband in it, I told myself, “Today will be a good and productive day. You have got to get up to begin the day.”

I quickly got ready for work. I hugged and kissed my husband goodbye.

Work was good. I still don’t really have a story to share, but there will definitely be some eventually.

After work, I went straight to Walmart to do some grocery shopping. Our house was pretty bare at this point. Then, I drove to my parents’ to pick up my social security card and birth certificate.

When I got home, I quickly took the sheets and comforter off of our bed. I threw them (along with kitchen towels) into the washing machine. I ate a little bit of our leftovers.

I got in some quick reading. Then, I got ready to go to the gym.

It was 3:45 when we left for the gym. We planned on going to Bible Study that started at 7. We would need to leave by 6:30. I would have to get ready and make dinner before leaving.

We focused our workout on our shoulders and forearms. Every chance I got, I stared up at the clock, and watched the minutes tick by.

We got home just a tiny bit before 5. I was practically sprinting inside. I took the quickest shower ever. I straightened my hair.

Then, I began cooking Italian sausage for homemade pizzas. I was throwing things around the kitchen trying to go as fast as I could. While the pizza was cooking, I cleaned majority of the dishes. After that, I ran to the bathroom to begin putting on makeup.

When the pizza was ready, I called for my husband. I ate quickly. I ran back to the bathroom, and finished the rest of my makeup.

We left right on time.

Bible study was great. When we got home, I finished the leftover dishes. I knew I wouldn’t want to do it in the morning before work. I put the sheets back on the bed.

We ended the night by going straight to bed. It was the first time all day that I really got to just relax. I told myself it would be productive day, and I wasn’t wrong.
