I also want to make it clear that these posts are mostly in reference to how I handle it online. Sometimes, it is harder to have these conversations online rather than in person. If someone is willing to have a peaceful talk on political matters, I am all for it. Personally, I have seen peaceful talks turn into hurt feelings though. My liberal friend and my conservative sister broke their extremely long friendship over a difference of opinion on politics. That's just not something I am willing to sacrifice.

I am not plugging my ears when politics come up. I am just careful with my words. I listen and learn more than I feel called to speak, but again, I am more willing to talk about these things when I am face-to-face with someone.

I hope this makes sense. I am not saying talking about politics is terrible as a whole. I am saying I am careful with the feelings that come with these conversations.
