At the beginning of the summer, I posted a rant about my husband being put on swing shift. Swing shift is when you switch back and forth between days and nights. Every week is different, and most of the time, he would only get two days to switch his sleep schedule.

Night shift is stressful. During the day, I feel like I can’t move or breathe. I am on my knees begging Jovi to not bark out at every little possible thing. At night, I am alone, and if I hear a sudden noise, I start anticipating being murdered.

The constant switching left no room for a great routine. Once we’d get used to days or nights, he began switching over.

I thought it would never end, and until we were both pleasantly surprised by the schedule maker giving my husband an end date.

These next few nights will be the last stretch of night shift for (hopefully) a very long time.
