There was great wisdom in this. I immediately thought of the Bible verse, Romans 5:3(b)-5. It says, " but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us."

Suffering, trials, unhappy times, whatever you want to call it strengthens us so much. Whatever spiritual beliefs one has... No one should ever stop growing. There is always room for to be better and to learn.
