Just like the rest of our story, it was everything that I hoped it would be and more.

Taken on: December 7, 2019, the day I met my husband

December is such a special time of year, but I have more than one reason to celebrate this season.

There’s the celebration of the birth of Jesus. There is nothing better or more beautiful to celebrate.

“And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.” — Luke 2:7

December is also a month full of memories for my husband and me. It’s the month we met and started dating in.

I hate this photo LOL, but this was taken the day (December 31, 2019) my husband asked me to be his girlfriend.

I have talked about how we met many times.

The quick summary is… I found my husband’s profile on Christian Dating for Free. His bio said, “If you have your head on straight, message me.” His Instagram link was at the bottom, and for some reason, I decided to go follow him.

I usually didn’t give a guy my social media until we had talked for a little bit on the dating app. It was very out of character for me, but I was intrigued by his blunt bio.

I was sick of talking to guys that didn’t know what they wanted. If you have read any of my stories, you know that I always have known what I have wanted, and I refused to settle for less.

3 days later on December 3, 2019, I got an Instagram DM, “Hey Grace, how are you? 🙂”

My husband immediately started asking me out on a date.

I was hesitant. We had just started talking, and I had been on enough terribly awkward first dates.

I remember being at work staring at my phone trying to decide if it was worth it. Then, I thought about what my mom
