In a world that grows more hateful by the day, be the love it needs.

**

If you have read any of my other blog posts, you know I am a Christian. Whether the whole blog is Christian-based or there are just mentions of God, I don’t hide the fact that I am a believer in my writing.

God is most important in my life, and as a lifestyle blogger, I can’t not talk about Him. However, if a Muslim, Buddhist, or Atheist were to read my blogs, I don’t want them to feel unwelcome. I don’t want them to feel as though they don’t belong on my page because of their different opinions.

Isn’t this how it should be with every topic? Am I really striving for anything that different?

Media has made us hate each other.

News outlets couldn’t careless how they get their views as long as people are reading what they are putting out. There is going to be bias. I don’t care what news you watch or read, it is bias.

It’s a smart tactic. They pull people in with a dramatic headline. They tell the story, but leave out key parts. They emphasize on other parts to make the readers feel more. The more a reader feels… The more the reader has to say.

It doesn’t matter if they get hate comments or have people give them backlash. They see that as free marketing. They get their money off of views. The more popularity they get… the more people want to sponsor by putting their own ads everywhere.

So, if getting people to argue brings in more people, they will use certain writing techniques to do just that.

Are you seeing my point?

What we choose to read online could make us feel and look at other people differently. People take sides, and no matter what side you take, the other side is wrong and hateful.

And you can’t forget the trolls. Internet trolls live to offend. There are people who actually like arguing and stirring people up. While one person is angrily typing and sweating over a way to address the troll, the troll is on the other side dying laughing.

By responding, you are giving them what they want. They want to be entertained. They are feeding off of your negative feelings.

Whether it was the news article you read or the disagreeing/agreeing comments, you walk away feeling upset. People say whatever they want to online. So much of what is said online, most would never say out loud. It’s easy to scream hate when there is a screen there to protect you from being slapped across the face.

If you don’t agree with someone, hate them.

That person believes what? That person doesn’t believe what? It’s obviously because they are hateful.

We are constantly being spoon fed that we should hate each other. If someone disagrees with you, it has turned into rebuking instead of learning. At some point, free thinking became a crime to humanity. What was once a difference of opinion is now justification to hate.

What would the world be like if we all just thought the exact same?

We would never progress. Things are invented when a person thinks OUTSIDE of the box. Things are discovered when we walk AWAY from what’s already known. We learn by understanding things we did NOT know.

We aren’t robots. We are individuals. Our minds aren’t supposed to be controlled, and unless we ever get to that point, we are allowed to think how we please.

How to escape the hate.

Well unless you plan on moving to an island with no connection to the outside world, you will probably see something hateful about whatever it is you believe / agree with.

Whether you are liberal or conservative, you will read a post online about how terrible you are to society. If you are religious, you will see how almost everyone believes your beliefs are hateful and judgmental. If you don’t believe at all, you will have extremists screaming that you are going to hell. Whatever opinion you have, there will be someone who doesn’t agree with it.

So, what CAN we do?

Just because someone may resent you for your opinions, doesn’t mean you have to do the same. Share your opinions, but do it lovingly. Don’t bring down others to make your opinion seem more credible. When someone disagrees, have a discussion. Learn about why they disagree. Break the cycle.

In a world that grows more hateful by the day, be the love it needs.
