"While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

We will never be close to good enough. Even as a strong Christians, we spend our lives at war between the flesh and the Spirit. We continue to do things that we know we shouldn't. That's what makes Jesus's sacrifice so loving and caring, because there is nothing we could ever do or have done to deserve that.
