Yes some dating apps are more about the physical side of things. However, as I mentioned, there are many dating apps that are more in depth. It helps weed out people that you know you wouldn't want to date. If I meet someone in the store, I don't know what their religion is and what exactly their morals are. I just know that they aren't a catfish. There's pros and cons for both.

As for being safe, absolutely! Whether you run into each other in person or meet online, public places are always the safest option.
