I spent less than 10k on my wedding, and we got married in my husband's childhood church. It was simple and sweet, and everything I wanted. A luxurious wedding means nothing in the grand scheme of things.
Unfortunately, a lot of people don't take marriage as seriously as it is supposed to be. A divorce is simply an expensive breakup. It's sad to see. /:
